Purpose of the Job

 

  • Analyze demand for raw materials and components to support the site production schedule.
  • Maintain and update material master data, including purchasing lead time, order quantity, and expiry.
  • Complete material purchases using MRP to ensure supply and efficient total cost.
  • Maintain and update systems for accurate inventory control.
  • Ensure procurement activities strictly align with relevant regulations and guidelines.

 

Job and Position Context

 

Thermo Fisher operates as a Custom Manufacturing Organization for small to large Pharma customers. Biologics exclusively focuses on the production of antibodies and other active pharma proteins using mammalian cell lines. We offer a diverse range of innovative technologies, including groundbreaking solutions like Single Use Bioreactors. Our team regularly transfers new processes from our Process Development department to Operations.

 

Job Content

 

A) Key Areas of accountability/responsibility

 

  • Participate in decision-making regarding project timelines and material supply impacts.
  • Plan and complete procurement of raw materials, services, and capex from global suppliers.
  • Periodically review and validate item master data information.
  • Develop and manage MRP data.
  • Enter and update purchase orders in the planning system.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules with vendors.
  • Proactively prevent material availability issues and report unresolved issues.
  • Expedite the release of materials needed for production.
  • Establish inventory strategies for effective management of stock levels.
  • Assist with additional tasks like generating reports and metrics.

 

B) Authorities

 

Process purchase orders.

 

Complexity of the Job

 

  • Work in a challenging environment with multiple customer-specific projects and strict timelines.
  • Maintain good relationships with Operations, suppliers, and other departments.
  • Internal contacts include Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, and more. External contacts include vendors, suppliers, and clients.

 

Knowledge and educational level

 

  • Education level: MBO (intermediate vocational education) level.
  • Demonstrated dedication to our principles of Innovation, Integrity, Intensity, and Involvement.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.

 

Required Level of Experiences

 

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a procurement function within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Computer literate in ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is an asset.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

 

Competences

 

  • Must be well-organized and capable of working independently.
  • Diligent and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
