Are you an enthusiastic young adult (18-30 years) who enjoys collaborating in creating and guiding recovery-oriented offerings for peers? Do you have an interest in social work and want to reach more young people in need of recovery support? Then we are looking for you!

As a project supporter, you will work with Marije to shape and guide the Recovery Café for young adults; a place where young adults come together to share experiences, support each other and work on their recovery. You will also help reach more young adults who would find the Recovery Academy interesting. Think networking, flyering, using social media, but also brainstorming together on a (creative) approach. Your input is very welcome!

Job tasks and duties

  • Support the running of the Recovery CafĂ© for young adults on Tuesday afternoons, 4pm-6pm
  • Assist in devising and organising activities and themes for the Recovery CafĂ©
  • Brainstorming on how to reach more young adults in need of recovery support
  • Promotion and PR tasks, such as creating flyers, social media posts and other forms of communication
  • Networking with organisations and individuals who can refer young adults
  • Collaborate with our team to develop new ideas and initiatives that meet the needs of the target group

Working hours (Tuesdays and Thursdays):

  • Tuesday afternoon: 15:00 - 18:00 (3 hours) - Recovery CafĂ© from 16:00-18:00
  • Thursday afternoon: 1 pm - 4 pm (3 hours)

We are looking for a young adult who:

  • Creative, enthusiastic and open-minded
  • Restful, sociable and able to work well with others
  • Interested in recovery processes and supporting peers
  • Dares to take initiative and contribute ideas
  • Experience with or willing to learn about PR, promotion and social media

About Sedna Recovery Academy:

The Recovery Academy is a place to come to yourself, go on an adventure and discover your own path. We offer space for growth to people in recovery, such as after a disruptive experience or a period of mental health problems. You can start to feel again that you matter and that you have potential.

We offer workshops, courses and training around different themes and activities. We also offer work opportunities for volunteers.
