We are looking for an experienced Buyer who understands how purchasing contributes to the growth and continuity of our organization. You contribute strategically, work passionately on smart, sustainable solutions and include colleagues in your vision. What are you going to do?
As a Buyer at Huhtamaki, you lead the entire purchasing process, from needs analysis to implementation. You are constantly looking for ways to make processes smarter and more sustainable. You play a key role in purchasing services and products, such as laundry, technology and facility facilities. In addition, you ensure efficient execution and monitoring of quality.
You take the initiative and, with your conviction, you know how to make people enthusiastic about improvements. Negotiating with suppliers, drawing up contracts and optimizing cooperation between departments are among your core tasks. You actively move through the organization, ask critical questions and ensure a connection between different stakeholders. Thanks to your structured approach, the process remains organized and efficient. In addition, you get plenty of space to make your innovative ideas — big or small — a success. Whether it's about cost savings, process optimization or sustainable initiatives, your creativity is appreciated.
Where will you work?
Huhtamaki Nederland BV, based in Franeker, is a leading manufacturer of sustainable molded fiber packaging. Since our founding in Leeuwarden in 1907, we have developed into a global specialist in transforming waste paper into functional and environmentally friendly products such as egg cartons, egg trays, cup carriers and protective packaging. With over 150 employees, we strive for quality, flexibility and innovation every day.
At the moment, we are looking for a Tactical/Strategic Buyer, as a colleague is leaving. The Purchasing Team also consists of an Operational Buyer and falls under the Supply Chain Department. Together, you are responsible for the Procurement of Huhtamaki Netherlands. You aim for optimal cooperation with the various departments and know better than anyone how important it is to properly advise them about suppliers. In this role, you are accountable to the Supply Chain Manager. You will join an organization with passionate and enthusiastic colleagues. Every day, you work together towards a sustainable future.
What do we ask of you?
• A completed MBO or HBO course, preferably in a relevant direction.
• Demonstrable experience as a Buyer and affinity with technology.
• You have strong communication skills, are looking for a connection and are persuasive.
• You work independently, take the initiative and enjoy optimizing processes.

• Your salary - based on the weight of the job and your experience - is between €57,750 and €77,000 per year based on 40 hours per week, including vacation allowance of 8% and a 13th month.
