The Emmen site is among Envaliors key larger sites and has a long-standing tradition. In the coming years a considerable amount will be invested annually to improve the assets and introduce new technologies and products.

As Improve Engineer, you will contribute to the growth strategy. Contributing to the optimization and improvement of the plants by providing broad and in-depth expertise and preparing/coordinating the upscaling of new and/or upgraded products within Operations. You assure consistency in product, process, and quality conditions and all relevant SHE conditions with respect to new and/or adapted products as a member of the improve department.

Requirements

Key areas of accountability/responsibility:

  • Set up functional scopes, execute feasibility and conceptual engineering studies for plant problems, opportunities, product development, new products, technological innovations, changing law and regulations.
  • Prepare and coordinate production (in Emmen and/or R&T, external toll manufacturer) of new and/or changed products according to agreed conditions in PERM and in compliance with APQP guidelines.
  • Represent Operations in development teams together with i.e. Technical Marketing, R&T, Purchasing.
  • Select (optimal) processing windows and all other relevant preconditions for new and/or adapted products, considering all Quality & SHE aspects.
  • Set up advice to Manager Operations for transfer of product development to next phase.
  • Scan and judge capabilities of toll manufacturers, secure confidentiality and anticipate to other cultures and systems (SHE and Quality); execute role of Tolling Process Engineer, as defined in Global Procedure GBL SCM - 8.5.01 Toll Production
  • Identify, analyze, execute, and report improvements on products and processes and implement process changes.
  • Participate in validation programs at customers (on request).
  • Interpret customer feedback of validation tests and communicate this to the Site Emmen to increase awareness of customer needs and initiate Sustainable Improvement actions.
  • Proactively set up proposals for plant improvement and execute improvement actions.
  • Will be part of project teams, and if appropriate act as project leader.
  • Import APQP product development projects, for which plant adjustments are necessary, into Improve Plant process.
  • Judge capabilities of the process and production lines regarding large diversity and interaction of production parameters, leading to multiple production possibilities and capability to produce.
  • Responsible to work according to the determined Life Saving Rules, promote a positive SHE attitude, internal and external in compliance with all regulations, and a proactive approach towards SHE, focused on monitoring (potential) unsafe situations.
  • Responsible for Auditing and Peer review
  • You will actively embrace a pioneering spirit, exploring new methods/materials/technologies to contribute to our values and mission.

Educational Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with an Engineering degree (BSc/MSc) in Chemical Engineering or a related field.

Possession of a Green Belt in Lean/Six Sigma.

Ideal applicants should have a comprehensive understanding of both the plant operations and the processing techniques.

A broad familiarity with various manufacturing disciplines is expected.

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 3-5 years in Manufacturing Process Engineering.

Familiarity with statistical techniques and evaluation tools is required.

Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities are essential.
