Naval Architect (32-40 hr)
Are you a Naval Architect who can provide technical expertise to support the decision-making processes of new vessels? Can you create vessels that meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and performance, and are future-fuel-ready? Then we are looking for you as our new Naval Architect (Senior or junior level).
As a Naval Architect at Conoship International…
You will be involved in various stages of the vessel design process, from initial concept to detailed design. In a multifunctional team of engineers, designers, and project managers you will create various vessel types such as General Cargo, Tankers, Dredgers, Offshore vessels, Ro-Ro vessels and/or specials.
Often the projects are at the forefront of technology, with a strong focus on emission reduction and sustainability. Besides ship design and engineering, Conoship International is strongly involved in research projects concerning alternative fuels, and sustainable shipping with the aim of using these results in new designs and products. The results of our research have already led to the launch of successful start-ups.
Your Main responsibilities:
- Participate in conceptualising and designing new vessels, considering client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analyses to ensure the stability and performance of the vessel.
- Work with naval architecture software, such as PIAS, AutoCAD, and Rhino to create detailed plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate various systems and components into the vessel design.
- Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical expertise to support decision-making processes.
- Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and insights.
- Stay updated on industry trends, and developments in naval architecture.
- Work with classification societies and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Who are you?
Please note: you must be an EU national or must possess the right to work in the Netherlands currently.
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- You have proven experience in naval architecture for various types of vessels.
- You have experience with naval architecture software tools, such as PIAS, AutoCAD, and Rhino.
- You have a good knowledge of hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, and marine engineering principles.
- You can adapt to evolving project requirements and deadlines.
- You have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
