About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tech Lead (Full Stack) to join our dynamic team in Groningen, Netherlands. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business goals and technical execution, acting as a technical liaison between the engineering team, the CTO, and other senior stakeholders. You’ll also lead and mentor a team of talented developers, driving the success of our full-stack applications and shaping the future of drone technology.
Responsibilities:
Technical leadership:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the development team.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, high-performance full-stack applications.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define technical requirements and solutions.
- Ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Full-stack development:
- Utilize Node.js and TypeScript for backend development.
- Work with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) to build scalable and maintainable web applications.
Cloud and Kubernetes expertise:
- Leverage in-depth knowledge of cloud platforms and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Design and implement cloud-native architectures that support high availability and resilience.
Reactive Databases:
- Apply strong knowledge of reactive databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB, Couchbase) to build scalable data pipelines.
- Implement event-driven architectures and messaging systems for real-time data processing.
Technical Documentation:
- Write clear, concise technical documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the technical liaison between the engineering team and the CTO.
- Translate business requirements into actionable technical specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years as a full-stack developer with experience in leading and mentoring technical teams.
- Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks.
- Expertise in cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and reactive databases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Desired skills:
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code).
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and API design.
- Knowledge of security best practices and threat modeling.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
- Native app development experience is a plus.
Location and availability:
- On-site presence: 60% of full-time on-site presence in Groningen, the Netherlands.
- Remote Work: Flexibility for remote work as needed.
