About the role:

We are seeking a driven and innovative Product Owner to lead the development of our Drone Operation Center software in Groningen, Netherlands. As a vital member of our product team, you will be responsible for defining the product vision, gathering requirements, and ensuring the successful delivery of solutions that meet the needs of drone operators in public safety, security and critical infrastructure management. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the product’s future while working in a dynamic environment at the forefront of drone technology.

Responsibilities:

Product vision:

• Define the product vision for the Drone Operation Center software.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities.
• Develop a clear product backlog, prioritizing features based on business value.

Requirement gathering:

• Elicit, analyze, and document detailed requirements from stakeholders, including drone operators, partners, and internal teams.
• Conduct market research to identify industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Create user stories, acceptance criteria, and wireframes to communicate product requirements effectively.

Product backlog management:

• Prioritize and refine the product backlog to align with the product vision.
• Work closely with the development team to estimate and plan features.
• Regularly review and update the backlog based on feedback and changing priorities.

Stakeholder management:

• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, internal teams, and executive leadership.
• Communicate the product vision and roadmap effectively to all stakeholders.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and address any concerns.

Agile methodology:

• Facilitate agile development processes, such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Ensure the team follows agile principles and practices.

Product launch and maintenance:

• Oversee the launch of new product features and releases.
• Monitor product performance and gather user feedback.
• Continuously improve the product based on user insights and market trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a product owner or product manager.
• Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of the drone industry and its unique requirements.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and cloud-native development.
