Electronics Engineer Internship

Aim of internship
As an intern, you will be engaged in designing, implementing and testing an odometry system that uses a wheel and proximity sensors to accurately measure the distance travelled by the PIG (Pipeline Inspection Gauge) in a pipeline. You will have the opportunity to tackle both hardware and software development and gain hands-on experience with advanced technologies in a realistic environment.
Tasks
- Literature review: research on odometry, pipeline inspection technologies and proximity sensors.
- Hardware design: development of a suitable wheel mechanism and integration of proximity sensors.
- Software development: programming data processing software and implementing calculation algorithms.
- Testing and Evaluation: conduct extensive testing to validate the accuracy of the odometry system.
Requirements
- Knowledge of electronics.
- Experience with sensor integration and basic programming skills (preferably in C++ (Arduino)).
- Analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and show initiative.
